Terms and conditions
Prices & sales tax (VAT)
Prices shown are calculated in GB Pounds (£) sterling. Books are not liable to sales tax (VAT). As the norm in our business is to deliver the books directly to the customer, the exemption from sales tax also covers delivery.
Order handling
Orders are normally processed within 24 hours of receipt, except at weekends and national holidays.
Books shown on the site are in stock and available for sale unless marked PRE-ORDER. Pre-ordering a books entails simply emailing us to say you want the book when it is released. It does not entail a commitment to buy. Pre-orders are useful to Interface Publications (as to any publisher) as a way of estimating demand so as to calculate the scale of the print run—which is good for the customer because it keeps the retail price down.
We reserve the right to decline any orders placed with us.
Payment
Payments are processed through PayPal. The following credit/debit cards are accepted: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Diners Card, JCB; Switch/Maestro, Delta, Solo. The following are not accepted: Electron or Visa Electron.
Payment by cheque: we will accept payments by cheque from retail customers only on the understanding that delivery will be initiated when the cheque has cleared (normally about 4 working days).
For wholesale customers, arrangements for payment (as also for shipping) must be discussed and agreed in advance.
Order confirmations & invoices
Online orders are directly confirmed by email—the customer is responsible for printing off a copy. A second email will notify the customer when we receive confirmation from PayPal that payment has been made—PayPal normally also notify the buying customer, but we like to be doubly sure. That same email from us will also indicate when the customer may expect delivery of the book(s). Finally, an invoice marked “PAYMENT RECEIVED” will be posted with the book(s).
Cancelling an order
Orders may be cancelled at any time before dispatch of the book(s). If the book/s has/have already been dispatched, the order may be cancelled within 30 days of the date of dispatch. Costs of packing and postage incurred when returning the book/s to us must be borne by the customer and will not be refunded. Once the returned book/s has/have reached us in good condition, we will refund the full amount shown on the invoice. Refunds will be made directly into the credit/debit card account from which they were taken.
What you see/what you get
The book cover images as they show on screen are supposed to be a fair representation of the real thing. Unfortunately, we cannot (and of course should not) have any control over how a customer’s systems display form and colour. So, it is common sense to anticipate and allow for very minor discrepancies between what you see and what you get, especially in depth or tone of colours.
Interface Publications reserve the right to amend or change a cover image in those cases where the image shown is clearly marked as “provisional” or as a “cover rough”. This only applies to books still in the pre-production stage.
Comments and complaints:
It is a good thing to complain if you are not satisfied with the product you are buying or the service you are getting while doing so. Please do so at: complaints@interfacepublications.com
It is also a good thing to express satisfaction with a service if you are satisfied with it; this is (apart from being nice for the service-provider) helpful to other people using the store and the “virtual market” in which it is doing business. Please address comments to: comments@interfacepublications.com
